Dr. Karen McGlothlin - Veterinarian

Dr. Karen McGlothlin is a 2007 graduate of Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

She joins Brevard Animal Hospital after practicing for the past several years at Lawndale Veterinary Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Originally from Kingsport, TN, Dr. McGlothlin is familiar with the Brevard area. She graduated with a PhD from Clemson University in 1999 and spent more than a few weekends hiking in the mountains & enjoying the waterfalls around Brevard. After graduation, Karen spent 6 years as an associate professor of biology at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN eventually pursuing her dream of attending Veterinary Medical School.

Karen’s primary interests in Veterinary medicine are in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, preventive medicine, and recently a strong interest in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

When she’s not working, Karen loves spending time outdoors or reading. Her best friends are an 11 year old pit bull, Beatrix Kidoo; an 8 year old Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Ronni; and a 7 year old orange tabby, Newfirt, who allow her to live in their house & provide them with a life of leisure.
